What This Zombie Horde Game Actually Is

Zombie Tsunami is a one-touch endless runner from Mobigame SAS where you guide an ever-growing horde of zombies through cities, farms, and other locales, turning fleeing pedestrians into more zombies and smashing through cars, buses, tanks, and planes along the way. With over 500 million players and more than 300 missions spread across 11 worlds, it’s built for anyone who wants a quick, low-effort arcade fix rather than a game demanding precise reflexes or deep strategy. The single tap-to-jump control scheme means it works equally well for casual players killing five minutes in line or for kids who just want to watch chaos unfold on screen.

The Simple Controls and Long-Term Content Keep It Fresh

The biggest strength here is how well the one-touch formula holds up over time. One long-time player mentioned playing for several years while the developers kept adding new goals, which lines up with the 300+ missions and 11 worlds on offer. Collecting zombie birds and unlocking bonuses like ninjas, dragons, and UFOs gives the horde-growing loop enough variety that it doesn’t feel like the same three-minute run on repeat. Reviewers specifically praised the creativity of the characters, the range of zombie birds, and the hats and cosmetic options, which adds a layer of personality that a lot of endless runners skip entirely.

The Long-Jump Bug That Keeps Coming Up

The most consistent complaint across reviews isn’t about ads or monetization, it’s a specific gameplay bug tied to the long jump. Multiple players describe holding down to clear a gap only to have part of the horde randomly decide to ‘bunny hop’ instead and fall into the pit, ending an otherwise good run. This isn’t a one-off gripe; it shows up repeatedly among the more detailed reviews, and it’s described as costing players runs they felt they earned. For a game built entirely around momentum and horde size, losing zombies to what feels like unpredictable input handling is a real dent in an otherwise smooth experience.

Ads, Video Rewards, and the Diamond Economy

Ads are the second major friction point. One reviewer flatly called them incessant, and while watching video ads does hand out diamonds, another player reported connectivity issues where the reward video simply wouldn’t load when trying to double coins or fill a zombie drink flask. On the currency side, there’s a complaint that Zombird eggs cost 30 gems, which feels steep relative to how gems are earned, and some confusion over why coin bombs and coin cars share the same value. On the positive side, the coin doubler / ad-removal purchase is called out by a longtime player as legitimately worth it and not a cash grab, which suggests the monetization is avoidable if you’re willing to spend a small amount upfront rather than grind through ads indefinitely.

Missing Customization and Quality-of-Life Requests

Several players want more control over the experience itself, not just more content. Suggestions from reviews include picking your own background, choosing a run speed, and generally more customization options beyond hats and birds. These aren’t complaints about broken features so much as a sense that the core loop, while solid, hasn’t evolved much in terms of player agency. It’s a fair point for anyone who’s logged serious hours and wants the game to flex around their preferences rather than the other way around.

Who Should Actually Download This

Zombie Tsunami is best suited to players who want a genuinely low-commitment arcade game they can pick up offline, since turning off WiFi reportedly removes ads entirely for some players, and one reviewer got years of use out of it on an aging iPad. If you’re the type who gets pulled in by mission checklists, unlockable birds, and steadily growing chaos on screen, this delivers reliably. Just go in expecting the long-jump bug to occasionally ruin a run, ads to be frequent unless you pay to remove them, and the gem economy to feel a little tight around zombie bird eggs. For casual, come-back-to-it-for-years play, it earns its massive install base.

Pros

  • Simple, accessible one-touch controls
  • Huge amount of content, 300+ missions
  • Creative zombie birds and hat customization
  • Ad-removal purchase genuinely worth it
  • Playable offline to skip ads

Cons

  • Long-jump bug randomly drops zombies
  • Frequent, sometimes intrusive ads
  • Zombird eggs feel overpriced in gems

What Real Users Say

“This game is a super fun endless runner! I have been playing it for several years now and the devs are great, they keep adding more goals for us to get to making it more fun. I purchased the coin doubler to remove the ads and I do not regret it. This game is not by any means a money…”

Natasha Decker 4/5

“I truly enjoy this game. The characters are creative and there are a wide range of zombie birds and hats. That being said.... I hate the incessant ads. I will eventually pay for ad free. At this time my favorite games are the ones that give you bonuses for ad watching and upon ad free purchase you get all double…”

“It's a great game for when your bored abd watching a few ads gives you a decent amount of diamonds, but the one issue I have is that half my runs are ended just because the zombies decide "Oh, you're holding for a long jump? Yeah, we're just gonna do a little bunny hop and all go in the hole"…”

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What is Zombie Tsunami?

Zombie Tsunami is an endless runner arcade game where you lead a growing zombie horde through cities and other locations, converting pedestrians into zombies and smashing through vehicles and obstacles. It features one-touch controls, 300+ missions, 11 worlds, collectible zombie birds, and unlockable bonuses like ninjas and dragons. It's developed by Mobigame SAS and has been downloaded by hundreds of millions of players.

2

Is Zombie Tsunami free to play?

Yes, the game is free to download and play, supported by ads and an optional in-game currency system using coins and diamonds. There's also a paid coin doubler option that removes ads, which one longtime reviewer specifically said was worth the money. You can progress without spending, but expect regular ad breaks unless you pay.

3

Does Zombie Tsunami have a lot of bugs?

The most frequently reported issue is a long-jump bug where part of your horde randomly stops jumping mid-gap and falls into a pit, ending your run unexpectedly. Some players also reported reward videos failing to load when trying to claim diamonds or double coins. Outside of these two issues, reviews don't mention major stability problems.

4

How much do the ads affect gameplay?

Ads are one of the most common complaints, with reviewers describing them as incessant, though watching them voluntarily does reward diamonds. Some players noted that turning off WiFi lets you play ad-free, and the paid ad-removal option was called worthwhile by at least one longtime user. If ads bother you, budgeting for the one-time purchase is likely your best bet.

5

Who is this game best for?

Zombie Tsunami suits casual players who want a simple, pick-up-and-play arcade game rather than something demanding precision or strategy. It's especially good for short sessions, offline play, and players who enjoy collecting cosmetics and working through mission lists over a long period. If you're sensitive to occasional gameplay bugs or heavy ad exposure, weigh those cons before committing.
