What This App Is and Who It’s For

Music Audio Editor, MP3 Cutter (also branded Super Sound) is a general-purpose audio toolkit for Android. It bundles cutting, splicing, mixing, format conversion, a voice changer, vocal remover, voice recorder, and video-to-audio conversion into one free app. It’s aimed at casual users who want to make ringtones, trim recordings, or strip unwanted intro/outro clips from tracks, rather than professionals needing a full DAW.

Given its installs in the tens of millions and over a million ratings, it’s clearly become a go-to for quick, no-frills audio trims on a phone, not a replacement for desktop editing software.

Where the Editing Tools Actually Work Well

Real users consistently praise the app for basic trimming tasks. One reviewer said they love using it to cut annoying intro bits off tracks ripped from CDs, calling it simple and easy to control. Another called it fantastic for hands-on editing, noting that if you know what you’re doing, it beats relying on AI-generated shortcuts. Users also enjoy playing with pitch and speed controls just to hear how a song sounds re-tuned or slowed down, which points to the effects tools being genuinely fun and functional for casual experimentation.

The Saving and Processing Problems That Hold It Back

The most serious complaint is that exports can fail. One user described losing almost an hour of editing work when the save process froze at 98% and crashed, calling it a dealbreaker and specifically warning others not to pay for the app because of this. Another reviewer said trimming wasn’t always precise even though the app claims tenth-of-a-second accuracy, and that saving triggered problems right after finishing an edit. A third user found the workflow so clunky that a task expected to take two minutes, trimming five seconds off a file, took ten, partly because locating the saved file afterward wasn’t straightforward.

Ads Are a Recurring Frustration

Multiple reviewers flagged the ad experience as excessive. One called the free version unusable due to popups and what they described as fake close buttons that redirect to the app store instead of closing the ad. Another had to dismiss two separate ads for the paid plan just trying to exit a session, and ultimately uninstalled after being unimpressed with conversion results on longer audio files, since converting anything over two minutes appears to be gated behind payment.

Verdict: Who Should Actually Download This

If you need a fast, free tool for simple trims, ringtone creation, or messing with pitch and speed for fun, this app can genuinely deliver, and the positive reviews back that up for lightweight tasks. But if you’re editing something important, be cautious: save failures have cost at least one user a full hour of work, and the ad load is aggressive enough that several reviewers found it borderline unusable. Treat any paid upgrade with skepticism until the crashing-on-save issue is confirmed fixed, and always save your work in short bursts rather than one long session.

Pros

  • Simple, easy-to-control basic trimming tools
  • Fun pitch and speed adjustment features
  • Good for quick ringtone creation
  • Free to use for basic tasks
  • Handles multiple audio formats

Cons

  • Save process can freeze and crash
  • Excessive ads with misleading close buttons
  • Trimming precision isn't always accurate

What Real Users Say

Chryssta Destrata 5/5

“I love the simplicity of it. It allows me to edit songs I've stripped from cds, taking off the annoying bits that artists insist on adding to tracks, and preserve the actual music I want to listen to. And it's so easy to control what it does! Plus, the ads aren't outrageous and super annoying. It's an amazing app. Just…”

“🚨DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP🚨 I used to love this app. but then when I tried to save my audio recording it goes through processing and freezes up at 98% processed and then crashes and I lose everything. Almost a hour of editing and now it won't process, save and then lost. That's a deal breaker. I'll be pulling…”

Justin O'Hare 5/5

“This is a fantastic app. Personally, it isn't 100% what i needed. There's plenty of other apps that will convert mp4 to mp3, while isolating each melody, rhythm and or instrament. But for editing in general, and getting hands on, this app is great. If you know what you are doing, ditch the AI generated isolation apps and download this.…”

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What is Music Audio Editor, MP3 Cutter?

It's an Android app, also known as Super Sound, that offers audio cutting, splicing, mixing, format conversion, a voice changer, vocal remover, and voice recording in one package. It's designed for quick tasks like making ringtones or trimming clips rather than professional-grade audio production. The app also supports converting video files into audio.

2

Is Music Audio Editor, MP3 Cutter free to use?

Yes, the app is free to download and use for basic editing, but several features are limited without paying, such as converting audio files longer than two minutes. Users also report a heavy amount of ads in the free version, including popups that some found intrusive and hard to close. A paid plan is offered to remove these limitations.

3

Does the app crash or lose edited audio?

Some users have reported serious issues with the save process freezing partway through, in one case at 98 percent, causing the app to crash and the edited audio to be lost entirely. This appears to be an inconsistent bug rather than something that happens every time. Still, it's wise to save work in smaller sessions to avoid losing lengthy edits.

4

Are the ads really that bad?

Multiple reviewers specifically called out the ad experience as excessive, describing popups and buttons that seem designed to close an ad but instead open the app store. One user said the app becomes essentially unusable because of how frequently ads interrupt the workflow. Not every user has the same experience, but it's a recurring complaint worth expecting.

5

Is the audio trimming accurate?

The app advertises precision down to a tenth of a second, but at least one reviewer found that trims didn't always land exactly where expected, requiring several attempts to get right. For casual trimming this is usually fine, but for tasks needing frame-accurate precision, expect some trial and error.
